Systems Biology?

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

I have seen many different areas of research in modern biology — the important of them being Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, Integrative or Systems biology. Is Systems Biology Comutational in nature or is it somewhat like engineering design ? Or is it a data driven modelling where you try to make a model that fits well into the test data (that is being generated very rapidly). What kind of work is done under the banner of Systems Biology?
